The Voice Announcement Converter Utility allows you to convert audio files from the *.WAV format to the Motorola Voice Announcement (*.MVA) audio file format. DotGreen.png Only *.MVA files are compatible with the radio's codeplug.

WFForward.png Once created, the *.MVA files may be loaded into the CPS’s current codeplug from the Voice Announcement List Page.

  • Audio files must first be recorded in a *.WAV file format outside of the CPS.

  • WAV file parameters must be 8000 samples per second, 16 bits per sample, Mono-channel PCM, and no longer in duration than 3 seconds.

  • Site Selectable Alerts (SSAs) are voice announcement that periodically repeat. SSAs may occur when receiving a voice transmission. When mixing SSA’s with received voice audio, SSA alerts are reduced in volume to ensure that the voice message is heard clearly. Because of this, it is important that the SSA audio files are created with clear loud audio to ensure they can heard clearly when played at reduced levels.
